LOS ANGELES COUNTY OFFICE OF THE ASSESSOR EARNS NATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR NEW ONLINE PORTAL

WASHINGTON, DC – Los Angeles County Office of the Assessor has been recognized with an Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties (NACo). The awards honor innovative, effective county government programs that enhance services for residents.

NACo recognized the Assessor’s New Online Portal, which was launched to improve public access to property data in Los Angeles County. Now, anyone with internet access can find detailed information about Los Angeles’ nearly 2.6 million real property parcels in an easy to access and easy to read format. The Portal provides comprehensive property information and 30+ years of assessment history in a modern, intuitive, and searchable website.

“This on-line update makes accessing and interpreting assessment data much easier and faster for the public,” said Assessor Jeffrey Prang. “By making information easier to find on-line, the public will save time and resources that previously relied on phone calls and manual research. Thank you to NACo for recognizing this advancement that serves as a gateway to valuable information for the public.”

NACo President Bryan Desloge said, “Counties overcome complex challenges, provide essential services and constantly do more with less. We applaud these Achievement Award-winning counties for outstanding efforts to improve residents’ quality of life.”

Nationally, awards are given in 18 different categories that reflect the vast, comprehensive services counties provide. The categories include children and youth, criminal justice, county administration, information technology, health, civic engagement and many more.

NACo will recognize award-winning counties at its 2017 Annual Conference and Exposition July 21-24 in Franklin County, Ohio. Started in 1970, NACo’s annual Achievement Award Program is designed to recognize innovative county government programs. Each nominee is judged on its own merits and not against other applications received.
